Hookahween 11/1 at The Newport

On Friday, November 1st, we’re returning for a homecoming show at our favorite venue in Columbus: The Newport.

Traditionally this has been a very wild night, where people dress up and dance the entire time, so to shake things up a bit, we’ve decided to dedicate this night to exploring lounge jazz interpretations of our favorite Motown and blues tunes, with lots of people seated, quietly observing the band… JUST KIDDING! CHRIS B PULLED OUT ALL THE STOPS!

Ohio Dreamfest sweethearts, Dustin Smith and The Daydreamers will be opening up the night with thunder and fury, after their set at Fall Hookahville was cut immediately after soundcheck for safety concerns, due to local lightning strikes.  Dustin and the entire Dreamteam have been nothing but supportive of the Hookah community since the Daydreamers began. We are happy to recognize his following as a true Ohio-grown movement and welcome him and his family back to the stage for a Halloween Hootenanny, the likes of which The Newport has never seen!   With how dressed up everyone was for Dreamfest and Hookahville this year, we can’t wait to see everyone’s costume contest entries!

Fee-free presale commemorative hard-copy tickets are available for this show via email for $22: raintree2910@gmail.com for anyone wishing to save on door pricing.  Day-of-show door pricing is $30, or $55 for Platinum seating.  The Newport will open the doors at 7:30pm, so make sure to come out early and get your dancing feet warmed up with Dustin Smith & The Daydreamers.  Our merch team has been putting out some pretty incredible new schwa swag, so make sure you say hi to Corinne and the crew to show off your costume at the merch table and find that piece of Hookah treasure you’ve always wanted!

We love you all, and would like to leave you with a little tidbit of Schwa history:

We played our first Columbus Halloween show on October 30th, 1992, at Ruby Tuesday’s, which was very near and dear to us in our early years, but the sandwhich at the end of this set in particular set the tone for the dedication to keeping Halloween one of the wildest and weirdest nights of the entire year! Happy Hookahween, everyone!
